Just
recently, Aaron's effects were returned to us from the police
station. I've been given permission to his laptop and any of his
possessions that may have held information regarding his
disappearance. That includes his cameras, hard drives, flashdrives,
and other things like his school work and notebooks, etc. I plan on
searching through everything, in hopes to find something that will
point me in the right direction – a heading, if you will. I have no
idea if I'll find anything, but that's not stopping me from being
hopeful. I'm not ready to give up on my brother just because the cops
can't do their jobs right.
Having
said that, Aaron had a ton of crap. I have Aaron's laptop as well as
about eight or so flash drives (each of varying capacities), three
external hard drives (two 500 gigabyte, one 1 terabyte), four or five
SD cards, two micro SD cards, and two rolls of 35mm film. On top of
the notebooks I have to go through, I've got my work cut out for me.
But like I said, I'm determined.
If I
find anything of interest, I plan on posting it here on the blog, as
a permanent record of sorts – like cloud storage. It also gives
anybody interested the opportunity to see what I've found, and help
in any way they can.
Wish me
luck,
–Jason

Orwell
So
somebody hacked the blog. Brilliant.
I don't know who posted that last entry. Apparently “ORWELL” whoever that is. That account isn't showing up on the blog settings, and I can't seem to edit nor remove “ORWELL's” post. No matter what I do, it continues to stay on the blog. As frustrating as that is, I'm going to just ignore it for the sake of continuing on.
If this is a joke – which I assume it is – then it's a messed up one. Whoever did that: PLEASE knock it off. That's not funny. It's just fucked.

Aaron is Missing
Hi,
Pic Junkies. It's Jason, Aaron's twin brother. He has mentioned me in
previous posts, and gave me permission to author on this blog, in
case I ever wanted to, so that's why I'm here. (Sorry I never did get
around to posting anything.)
Anyway, like the post title says, Aaron is missing. He has been for a few weeks now. The police have no leads, and are letting up on their search slowly but surely. They aren't fooling anyone. They're giving up. Normally, I'd trust them to do their job, but something is wrong here. I don't know what, but something is off.
A lot of the previous posts on the blog have been marked private and unreadable to anyone, not even me, despite the fact that I admin the blog. If you can gain access to any of the posts previous to this one, please let me know how you did so. If you could provide a transcript (ie copy+paste) of whatever it is you'd read, that's also be really helpful.
That being said, what posts I can read have disturbed me.
I don't remember any of what Aaron talked about in those posts ever happening.
I am directly referring to the posts “Remember Jason? Yeah, Nevermind” “A Brief Hiatus” and “The Colors.” Especially that last one. What the hell is that all about?
This leads me to believe something may have been going on with Aaron that he was trying to hide, which may have connections to his disappearance. So, I'm going to be playing detective and trying to investigate myself what has happened to my brother.
I'll be using this blog, and any of it's related social media to get the word about about Aaron and what was going on. I've also created a Facebook page and a Twitter in addition to existing profiles. I'll link to those as soon as they're set up.
If anyone has any leads, info, or help, please email forgottencolors@gmail.com, comment on the blog posts, or use any other form of media to get in contact with me. It's a great help.
Thanks,
Jason K. Farraday

A Brief Hiatus
Hey
pic junkies. Sorry about my recent absence, as of late. Family stuff has kept me busy, and in addition to that, school work has restricted me from having any freetime. So that means no pictures. Things simply aren't good. I don't want to, nor have time to explain what is going
on right now. It's too much. I need to focus on life right now. Sorry, but I will be back soon, don't worry!
Wish me luck.

Instagram (and) Catch Up
Hey there pic junkies.
Man, things have been hectic. Both school-wise, and family wise. It kinda sucks.
Anyway, I don't have any new or cool awesome photos to share with you guys as of yet. I haven't had time to go out in weeks, and in digital photo class, we've just been working on photoshop stuff.
I have, however, scrounged up a few awesome sky shots with Instagram, taken with my phone camera. So here are those:

A Chat with Michael Bloom
Credit Michael Bloom |
Originally, I meant to sort of “interview” him, with myself asking questions, and him answering them. But, he took liberty and typed up an entire article! I didn't want to splice it to fit the interview style, because I felt like it would degrade the quality and interrupt the flow, so here are the questions I asked:
What
drew you to photography? Anything specific?
(Where)
Did you go to school/take photo classes? When?
When
did you get into it? As a beginner?
When
did things get serious?
What
do you use when you take photos? When you edit them?
How
do you like to take photos/edit them the way you do?
Any
model photographers? Styles you've "stolen" from
anyone? What are some of your favorite places/people you've
photographed in the past? Currently? Anywhere you wanna go?
Mike went ahead and answered them, extensively and cohesively, in one big timeline. It's quite a read, but one well worth reading, especially if you're stoked about photography, and want to do it in the future. Anyway, without further ado – here it is! (Hit that jump first, though)

Remember Jason? Yeah, Nevermind.
Hey Pic Junkies, Aaron here.
So, remember that post I did about my brother a couple weeks ago? Yeah, the one where I said that he'd be posting poems and short stories on here, with my pics? Well...he won't be – as much. He's been a real pain lately, and we've been getting into arguments. Things are strained right now, for reasons I'd rather not get into.
So on that depressing note, I'm only gonna let him post stuff if it's really good. It's just me being a finicky douche, not letting him post, but it impacts his work more than mine. Whatever. Sorry for the early morning anger rant.
I'll leave you with a pic, at least, haha. Enjoy.

Shopping for Monsters
Hey there, pic junkies. What up.
I was bored yesterday, and decided to Google search alleged monster sightings. I love looking at these photoshopped pics of the Loch Ness monster, or the Mothman. I'm a sucker for urban legends, and the respective so called “evidence.” Oh man, some of these jobs are really unconvincing, too.
See some of my favorites after the jump.

My Brother, the Writer.
Hey pic junkies, Aaron here!
I'm happy to introduce my twin brother Jason as an author on the blog now! He's got some pretty awesome poetry and short stories that I like to pair with my photos on occasion, so he'll be posting some entries on here now. He'll still share my photos and on top of that, he can get some of his work out into the interwebz as well. So yeah. Look forward to that in the future!
I'm going to leave you with a picture of the sunset Jason took on the way home from the beach. For a phone pic, it's not that bad.

Sky, Meet Coast.
Also, I've just gotten an Instagram! So now you can see all the sweet stuff I take "on-the-go" with my phone camera. You can follow me @ForgottenColors. The quality of photos my phone camera takes isn't the best, but it's good enough. And of course, I can cheat and use Instagram's in-app filters and such to make even crumby-ish pics turn out great. If you don't do the whole Instagram thing, don't you worry: the best photos will make it on here, too.
Anyway, enjoy these awesome shots I took last week at the beach/pier, after the jump.

Playing With WATER
Hi whatever readers I have! (Glad you're here, btw!)
Here are some more of those awesome shots I took last week. These are some of a water fountain I was messing around with. I really like the way the water distorts the background behind it.

School Sun
Hey there.
So! This past week has been busy...especially in my Digital Photo class. I have so many awesome shots, I don't even know where to begin! But, I've been going through them (slowly) and I found a couple I really like. I took these (again) in the morning, so the sun hits everything really nicely. Check 'em out after the jump:
